About us

With the adoption of the European Union’s Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act), our research group is committed to ensuring that AI development and deployment prioritize inclusivity, fairness, and human dignity. Our mission is to empower society, eliminate biases, and address societal inequalities through academic research and the the results that this brings
Why is human centric AI important?
Human centric AI refers to conscious design choices of placing humans in the center of AI systems. AI works for the humans and to serve their needs in order to make their life better.
A system should never result to harming society and human rights in order to fulfill its programming. Human centric design therefor calls to establish a balance between functionality and ethics which are implemented within the whole life cycle of the system, from the design stage to deployment and continuous use.
Human centric design requires strict criteria that the academic community still searches for. You can be a part of this search.

Objectives
By joining us you will get to help us achieve our objectives some of which are:
1.Creation of research papers on the ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI).
2.Development of policy recommendations for use by universities, the public, and private sectors, aiming for inclusivity, dignity, and fair treatment of all individuals in AI applications.
3.Research on the impacts of AI on human rights.
5.Research on national and regional AI sandboxes.
7.Conducting educational workshops to inform citizens and all stakeholders about AI and its societal applications.
9.Raising awareness among students about the social aspects of AI.
11.Organizing competitions to promote interdisciplinarity and collaboration across scientific fields.

Our activities
