Professor Charalampos Z. Patrikakis (Lab Director). He is a Professor at the University of West Attica (UniWA) on the Design and Implementation of Interconnected Electronic Systems and Services, with emphasis on data collection and processing. He is the Director of Computer Network Services Research laboraTory, Director of the Information Transmission-Processing and Networks Division of the Dept. of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of UniWA, a founding member of THINGENIOUS, a spinoff company of UniWA and the Director of the MSc Program “Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning”. He has served as advisor to the Deputy Minister of Development in Greece, responsible for issues related to research during 2006-2007. He is currently Editor in Chief of IEEE IT Professional Magazine, Computer Society representative at the Steering committee of IEEE Internet of Things Journal, a Senior Member of IEEE, an IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Contributor, IEEE Computer society Distinguished Visitor and counselor of IEEE Student Branch of UniWA, Chair of the Special Interest Group on Trustworthiness on Social Networks of the Social Networks Technical Committee of IEEE and Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
Professor Stelios A. Mitilineos. He is a Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of West Attica (UNIWA), Greece. He received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, in 2001 and 2006 respectively. He received a Ph.D. fellowship from the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, Greece (NCSR), from 2003 to 2006. He was a post-doc Research Associate with fellowship with NCSR from 2008 to 2011 before joining UNIWA in 2011. He holds a Certificate of Pedagogical Proficiency since 2008 and an MBA since 2013. He has more than 90 publications, including book chapters, journal papers, scientific conferences and patents, and more than 600 citations to his published work. He has participated as a researcher and scientific coordinator in more than 30 European and National research projects on applied electromagnetics. His main research interests lie in the areas of Antennas and Propagation, Wearable and Textile Antennas, RF and Microwave Devices, Position Location, and Machine Learning applied to Electromagnetics.
Dr. Pericles Papadopoulos. He is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, School of Engineering, University of West Attica. He received his Diploma of Mathematics in 1995 form University of Athens. Also, he holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics (2002) from the School of Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA): << Invariant Sets and Attractors-The sine-Gordon Equation >>, as well as a PhD in Applied Mathematics (2003) from the same University, entitled: <<Asymptotic Behavior and Stability Results for Quasi Linear Wave Equations of Kirchhoff Type on R^N>>. He worked as a post-doc researcher in Applied Mathematics under the financial support of the program PYTHAGORAS I. During the years 1999-2010 he worked in several Greek Universities and Technological Education Institutes. He is member of Computer Network Services Research Laboratory. His recent research interests include: Applied Mathematics, Partial (Nonlinear) Differential Equations with Applications in Physics (eg Kirchhoff Equations), Nonlinear Dynamic Systems, Elliptic and Parabolic Problems, Simulations and Systems Modeling. He has published several publications (> 70) in international journals with high impact factor, as well as presentations of scientific papers (25) in International and Greek conferences. He has been a member of several undergraduate theses (30), as well as a reviewer of scientific papers in various international journals.

Dr. Michalis Feidakis (male) holds a Ph.D. in Affective Computing & Learning (University of Aegean, Greece – Open University of Catalonia, Spain), an MSc in Multimedia and Internet Computing (Loughborough University, UK), and a Degree in Informatics (Athens University of Economics, Greece). He is a lecturer in the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, University of West Attica (UniWA), Greece. He is also a senior researcher of the CoNSeRT Lab (UniWA), also a member of the Open University of Catalonia (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya-UOC) SMARTLEARN Research Group. In the last 20 years, he has taken part in many funded/co-funded projects at National, European and International level. He has an extensive teaching experience in all grades of education (Primary, Secondary & Higher Education) and Professional Training as well. In the past, he had an advisory role in the Information Society Office of the Ministry of Education (2004-2008), while he has also served as the National Coordinator of Asia-Europe Classroom Network (AEC-Net). His research focus is on the AI/Affective Computing domain with applications in Education and Learning, holding several publications in national and international journals and conferences.
Panagiotis Monachelis belongs to the Laboratory Teaching Staff of the University of West Attica, Dept. Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He received a degree as Electronic Engineer from the Technological Educational Institution of Athens. He holds a MSc degree in Networking and Data Communications from Kingston University in partnership with Piraeus University of Applied Science and a MSc degree in Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning from the University of West Attica. He has worked in the field of microcontrollers in technical company and as well in the IT department in banking sector. Currently, he is a PhD candidate at the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of University of West Attica. His research topic focuses on Big Data mining and Visualization over Online Social Networks. He is involved in various research projects such as the EUNOMIA funded by EU in the field of data visualization through social media and he is currently involved in the VERITY project funded by EU researching the topic of public’s trust in science through multidisciplinary methodology, focusing on the analysis of social media data.s.

NellyLeligou is currently (from Oct. 2017) professor at University of West Attica. From 2007-2017, she acted as associate professor at Technological Educational Institute of StereaEllada. Her research interests lie mainly in the areas of Information and Communication Technologies including a) routing protocols and trust management in Wireless Sensor Networks, b) control plane technologies in broadband networks including HFC, PON, WDM metro and core networks and c) industrial, embedded and network system design and development. Currently she is working on block-chain technologies, IoT enabled systems and gamification for various application sectors including social innovation, education and participatory approaches. She is the scientific coordinator of the H2020-ASSET project. Her research results have been published in more than 100 scientific journals and conferences. She has participated in several EU-funded ACTS, IST, ICT and H2020 research projects in the above areas. She also acts as evaluator for H2020 proposals. She is also a visiting professor at the Hellenic Open University.
Grigoris Nikolaou is Lecturer at the University of West Attica, Department of Industrial Design and Production Engineering (formerly Department of Automation). He received his M.Sc. in Control Systems from the Department of Automatic Control of the University of Sheffield in 1998 and his PhD from the same Department in 2002. He has worked for more than 9 years as a Control Systems engineer on Industrial and Building Automation projects. He participated as Research Associate, in a number of European, British and Greek National research programs.

Sorin Adam Matei is College of Liberal Arts Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Education and Professor of Communication, Brian Lamb School of Communication – studies the relationship between information technology, group behavior, and social structures. His current interests focus on modeling and simulating the role of communication and information processes in collaboration and conflict, spanning from knowledge production to military command and control. He has published several books and tens or articles in the Journal of Communication, Communication Research, Information Society, and Foreign Policy. He is a former BBC World Service journalist whose contributions have been published in Washington Post, National Interest, Foreign Policy, Esquire, Wall Street Journal, Times Higher Education, and leading Romanian newspapers. In Romania, he is known for his books Boierii Mintii (The Mind Boyars), Idolii forului (Idols of the forum), and Idei de schimb (Spare ideas).
