On Tuesday, March 11th, 2035, the University of West Attica hosted a lively and well-attended event on Research & Publishing with IEEE Xplore, organized by the COmputer Networks & SErvices Research laboraTory (CONSERT) in collaboration with the IEEE Student Branch UniWA.

The session, held in front of a full auditorium of enthusiastic students, featured Eszter Lukacs, IEEE Client Services Manager, and Rachel Berrington, Director of IEEE Client Services. Both speakers delivered an engaging and informative workshop packed with practical insights for young researchers.

Key topics covered included:

  • Maximizing research impact using IEEE Xplore
  • Strategies for publishing in IEEE journals and conferences
  • Common reasons for paper rejection and tips for navigating peer review
  • Open Access options through the HEAL-Link agreement

The interactive nature of the event, with students asking numerous thoughtful questions, demonstrated a high level of engagement and curiosity. The session concluded with an informal networking reception featuring free pizza and refreshments, generously offered by our IEEE guests — creating the perfect close to a productive afternoon.
